Today it houses the country’s largest cathedral and the famous Viking Ship Museum.<\/p>\n

Roskilde Cathedral:<\/strong> built with exposed brick in the twelfth century, is the first Gothic cathedral in Scandinavia. Here are the richly decorated royal tombs of a significant number of kings and queens of Denmark, 39 in total, starting with Margarita I. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995.<\/p>\n

Museum Viking ships:<\/strong> Fascinating journey into the world of the Vikings and Valkyries. Here we discover the strategies and tactics of navigation of the famous Viking warriors. 5 vessels were rescued from the bottom of the fjord (dating from the ninth century to XI), and you could see replicas made according to original construction techniques, a documentary was also exhibited at the minicinema.<\/p>\n
